I have spent nearly 8 years working with Michael Morris. My divorce was dragged out because my ex-husband did not want to sell our business, and because he was uncooperative and non-responsive. Initially, I expected an amicable resolution and to quickly move on with my life. This case was very complicated, and despite every attempt by Mike and his associate Denise Koeller to finalize it, every step of the way my husband and opposing counsel dragged it out. It was necessary to hire a forensic accountant to find the money my ex-husband was sending to his girlfriend.I think this is probably one of the most exhausting cases Mike and Denise have worked on. Mike is empathetic, really sharp and experienced. I felt that he and Denise really cared about me and did everything they could to make sure I had a good outcome.Denise has been a pleasure to work with and she was there whenever I needed her, often communicating on weekends and late hours. I always felt the billing was fair, and in fact, they both worked to keep costs down – at times, being the person on the phone speeding things up when I would get in the weeds with things that didn’t matter.After such a very long time with many periods of inactivity due to my ex-husband’s behavior, I felt at times like it would never end. Denise and Mike were always reassuring, but never over-promised. Mike was always professional and polite with the opposing side, but he never let a thing slip.Soon after Denise became part of my divorce, I felt like she was almost a friend. She and Mike worked really well together and that was very reassuring. I could say so much more, but this is already long enough. We’re still tying up a couple small items, but the exhaustion and worry is over, and I am happy with the outcome.One last thing: I would not want to be on the other side of the table with Michael Morris and Denise Koeller.
